Let's try to find out the reason. We are dividing the users into three categories - Business Person, Job Holders, Others ( Students, housewives etc ). The first one may prefer it because talking more doesn't give the stability to our mind. In order to, be creative and productive, they need to focus on their mental health. There chatting is a better option.
After having hectic work at office, normally job holders prefer chatting than talking as it takes less energy.
Others also prefer it as chatting gives secrecy, engagement and free hands to be more expressive.

When Mr Swapan Rajdev, Co- founder and CTO of Haptik after coming from his startup, Stint have seen the increasing dependability of Indians on smartphones and apps especially on the messaging app, he decided to adjust with the heat in India and build something user friendly. Haptik is a chatbot that is build using Artificial Intelligence and reaches over 100M devices monthly. Haptik is invented with the thought of giving businesses relaxation of mind and making their job easier while maintaining excellence. It helps in generating leads, engaging customers and providing them service.

But, there are already existing competitors. Sundar Pichai has already launched 'Allo', the google chat assistant.

David Marcus, Lead of Facebook Messenger launched Facebook Messenger saying, “it’s an exciting step towards enabling people on Messenger to get things done across a variety of things, so they can get more time to focus on what’s important in their lives.”
Dag Kittlaus came up with 'Viv', almost a Siri 2.0 with all the capabilities of an assistant.
This proves the importance of chat apps in the market especially in the future generation.

Why Chatbots?

We interact with more than hundred times a day message or email or online activity. Because, we love interaction and it makes us feel productive. Secondly, human minds have the tendency to forget.
So the chatbot is here to interact with you and remind you about the things at exact time.
If you set an alarm at 9am, you get the reminder. Haptik is also thinking about calling the person or alarming again after 30mins in case the alarm hasn't been stopped. It knows your location and suggests you the best possible way to reach office on time. It may show you the comparative low price for booking a cab. It tries to know you more and more to suggest the best things which makes your life more comfortable. In Haptik, when an user messages, the bot tries to understand the meaning first. If it is unable to meet 99% accuracy, it automatically fails in the background and goes to a human of that domain. Now, the bot learns from the human the new things and saves it for future for make it large in the future.
For example, best restaurant in Calcutta can be answered by the bot but best Bengali Restaurant with ' Ilish Vapa' in menu needs the human help for the first time. The human assistant is chosen depending on the age, geography and expertise. They teach the chatbot 24*7 to learn how different kind of humans write in different style like 'I want food' / 'iwant food' / 'i wnt food'. They also include other learnt chatbots to make it stronger.

What Haptik did?

People have limitless words to speak of and choices. But they thought to make a limit by using category only among which they can choose. They came up with this simple theory :
"If you control the items on a menu, you control the choices one can make. If you control the choices, you can predict decisions. Knowing how people invest their time and which choices they make when given a fixed menu defines their mental (space) investments. This is the meta-data of your so called “interests” that can be used to provide hyper-contextual experiences".

Funding :
It has received $1000000 as seed funding and $ 11200000 in series B from Vishnu Mohta, Miten Sampat and Abhishek Shah.

Future :

The more customized it will become, the more growth it will get. Their primary focus on giving coolness to the business and people exhausted with lots of apps by providing them a single app solution can make it big. Though bots alone can't do all the things but bots with human intelligence can make miracles happen. Let's hope that Haptik will make it with its strong team.
